Yeah, Yeah, Yeah! I've heard this line before. The real problem is that prices don't need to be this high! The US government doesn't have a long term energy strategy! We need to stop giving into the environmentalist & agriculture lobbies and drill for more oil and we need more refining capacity. Beyond that, we need to be working on "real" energy alternatives that doesn't throw off the food supply in the world.

I couldn't agree more, and hoped my post would express that living in the UK has simply opened my eyes to how much less expensive life was for us in the States; from higher salaries, lower house prices, and more reasonable transportation costs...life is pretty good there. We just wished people knew how even $4/gal is much more reasonable than what millions of us live with every day in Europe and other non-oil producing regions. Glad I sparked some reaction though, thanks for your thoughts!
