Mica Paris - Where Is The Love

Where Is The Love?
Entry by DP....

I was struck by the following quote by John Frye this evening: "A church is too large when its size distracts us from practical, nitty gritty love. When all the energies are directed into "growing" rather than into "loving," the church has become an idol." This is the constant struggle that we face as followers of Jesus, the tension between discipleship and evangelism. They are not mutually exclusive endeavors, but I think Frye is right in pointing out the increasingly misplaced worship of church growth over the love of one another and the worship of God. What do you think?

Hi there JQ. Bet you are not getting much work done today - hehe. I noted your blog was posted at 12:30 a.m. You are probably asleep at this very moment - well, at least I would be. LOL

I will miss you and our small group. Until next post. Hugs!!!!!

Dylan,
Love the quote and the thought. Right on that our job as the church should be to love. I believe that's how God calls us to evangelize...by loving well. "All we need is love" eh! But of course the eternal love of our Father expressed through his people.
